Internships & Research
My interest in global health has grown through my experiences in healthcare, research, and academics. Each has given me a different perspective on patient care and the social and economic factors that can affect access to healthcare.
Amana Healthcare, Bahrain
At Amana Healthcare, I observed multidisciplinary care in a post-acute rehabilitation setting and saw firsthand how nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists work together to support patient recovery.
I also assisted post-stroke patients with simple functional exercises designed to rebuild independence in daily activities and participated in structured conversations with clinical staff about patient advocacy, decision-making, family involvement, and the responsibilities of different healthcare professionals.

Mentored by Dr. Naji Alamuddin, my research examines the relationship between female education and maternal health outcomes, including its potential role in delaying early marriage, increasing antenatal care and skilled birth attendance, and expanding economic opportunities for women.
